architectural designer + project manager

BA Hons

I've always been interested in art and design and it was a natural progression of my artistic skills to go to an arts college. I'm also a practical person so I decided to study Furniture Design to combine creative design with ergonomic and usable form. I qualified with a BA Hons and worked on public buildings in the local authority sector before moving into the dynamic world of exhibition design. Ten years later I changed tack and became an apprentice with a talented local builder and this is where I developed my passion for buildings. Using my design and building experience I then set up a British company offering architectural design and build to private clients, and I've done that ever since - I love seeing a client's dream become a reality.

My wife Karen and I moved from the UK to the French Alps in 2006 and set up a French registered building and design company (www.renovationsolutions74.com) in 2008. AlpStudio is a new partnership with Tom that I find very exciting - the combination of our talents and experience really puts us in an excellent position to help our clients realise their alpine dreams. AlpStudio has been operational since Nov 2017.

I have a love of skiing that starts each season on the first flake and ends with the last slushy turns. In my downtime, you'll find me searching out open powder fields in winter and sailing on lake Geneva in summer. My sidekick in the studio and on the mountain is Bella the powder hound.
